Antennas Erupt - Magical Energy (S-S Records, 2004)

Antennas Erupt! (the band name ends with (!) but i cant characterized their name on the post title) is not your 'normal' band type. Stumbled upon this band while i was in search of the new music from soulseek and the first listen; i'm hooked :) First off, the instrumentation is horns, cello and drums. A lot of it is instrumental. There is some Albert Ayler and Captain Beefheart influence there, but it also reminds us of Julius Hemphill & Stanley Cowell. People call it free jazz but this guys fit well with playing art rock bands too. (I wonder why some lastfm fags tag this as psychedelic). For those of you with an open mind and a thirsty ear for something different, here is some Magical Energy. White vinyl in a tri-fold sleeve and only 500.

wow Emmy, great post!
Sounds like the Animal Collective of some jazz scene (Chicago or New York, who can tell?), with a perfect balance between hypnotic structure and freeform. Shamanic magical art, connecting with higher states <3
