I got this because of the Paul Flaherty connection, of course. Flaherty, in recent years, has seen his stock skyrocket because of his heavily praised pairing with the dynamic Chris Corsano (and that duo's many, many incorporations into larger groups, such as Cold Bleak Heat and Dream/Aktion Unit). Here is a much older document of Flaherty's earlier years, but the results are anything but amateurish. In fact, I believe that a lot of this disc represents some of the best recorded Flaherty material because, unlike some of his discs, there is both lulls and peaks of intensity in his playing, and a unique instrumental balance.

If you like gamelan music and those combinations of sound that, as an emotional catalyst, could soothe down and make you feel at home just like discovering a delicate and quiet panorama outside a favorite window, then this may be good for you.

Rob Fisk (Badgerlore, Free Porcupine Society) has recorded bewitching soundtrack for being completely lost. An abstract beauty which comprises buzzing emotional violin, the guitar sprawled out like dew on grass, the vocals like a gauzy fog hugging the ground, this is my fav lullaby record which i've been drifting dreamily from track to another track. Remember when things happening in slow motion, blurry soundscapes moving under neon crescent moon and sinking to the infinite dream.
